The Big C, the dreaded word, no one wants to hear it, no one wants anything to do with it, but the sad reality is, it is part of the lives of many of people these days and no matter how much we want to deny it, that is the truth of life.
The American Cancer Society (ACS) wants us to realize though that there is life after cancer, that we can beat it. It doesn’t have to consume us, at all! And their yearly event, American Cancer Society Relay for Life has become one of the biggest events held each year to bring awareness to the world and bring in more birthdays and less cancer. They seek to bridge together people who has been affected by the disease, those who fought it and lost, those who fought and won, and those who are still fighting and the loved ones who went through it all as well. It is the world’s biggest fight for cancer yet!
Each year, ACS launches this event in the hope of making more and more people aware that most cancers are treatable if detected early and many can lead normal lives after treatment or operation, you just need to catch it early on so you can get treated early as well. It’s their mantra that “when we walk together, we’re bigger than cancerâ€, so let’s do our best to support this cause, so that more people can live better, longer lives and that “Big C†will no longer be as big as we thought it was.
