This quote is so true. Most people really misunderstand God, but don’t realize that without Him life is worthless.

I am glad that you use the Bible as your guide. It is the way that God speaks to us. I always refer to the Bible as our instruction manual.

touching thoughts ~~ what i felt while reading, i was facing a mirror seeing almost same face of my thoughts

Unto my life journey, i experienced that great emptiness and going back to Christian faith, i learned to read the Bible and ^^ that’s it! I came to a realization that Jesus is all I need.

And I am really so thankful that the scriptures written in the Bible was deeply rooted unto my heart, if it is not ~~ i don’t know where I am standing in my life right now.

Thanks for this article. I feel so blessed. And even so grateful that you choosed my image ~~ really so thankful.

Nathan, Beliefs, which were formed and inculcated in us by different sets of factors, are entirely different from ‘faith’ as referred to by the good apostle James. Those will easily burn or ‘crumble under closer scrutiny.’ But, genuine faith in God will stand the test of time and trials ( again taking the context of James’ epistle there). Good point, though. While it is true that our beliefs are largely influenced by our early surroundings, our beliefs will not always crumble under closer scrutiny. As stated in the Bible (James 1:27), there is such a thing as pure religion. It doesn’t always have to be a wall erected between God and mankind. There are cases where it will tear down walls. In this case, I would use true Christianity as an example. Not the watered-down, cafeteria Christianity that you will see in the majority of churches in the Western world, but true Christianity.

Great post, Wendy. Pertaining to the second item, I am reminded of the words of John Piper.

“God is most glorified when we are most satisfied in Him.”

How we perceived GOD or our maker is largely a result on how we were influenced by our family, culture, and education. As we cruise into ‘rel-life’ as mature individual, we realized that under closer and more stringent scrutiny our beliefs will crumble. Religion while trying to bridge the gap between us and God, ironically erected a wall before Him. Spirituality is found when we genuinely seek our maker in humility, openness, and faith.
